Lazy Day Foods Free From Millionaire’s Shortbread

Ingredients – flour (rice, tapioca, corn, soya), dairy-free margarine (palm oil, rape seed oil, water, salt, emulsifier (mono- & diglycerides), natural vegetable colours (curcumin, annatto), natural flavouring), sugar, chocolate (cocoa solids, cocoa mass, sugar, cocoa butter, soya lecithin, natural vanilla), golden syrup, palm oil, emulsifier (soya lecithin).

I am having a very rock and roll Sunday evening (see photo) and these have been a very pleasant accompaniment. If I am going to be picky then the biscuit base is too crumbly. These shortbread are not good for surreptitious snacking as you will leave tell-tale crumbs. Also, I thought there was too much biscuit base and too little caramel. Despite these gripes, I would still buy these again.

Lazy Day Foods Free From Tiffin

48ab3ea3-3f15-476c-87ce-bd6d9d05764dIngredients- chocolate (cocoa solids, cocoa mass, sugar, cocoa butter, soya lecithin, natural vanilla), flour (rice, tapioca, corn), dairy-free margarine (palm oil, rape seed oil, water, salt, emulsifier (mono- & diglycerides), natural vegetable colours (curcumin, annatto), natural flavouring), sugar, sultanas, golden syrup, soya lecithin.

I haven’t got a photo of this (so I had to use a stock photo from the company website) because my husband ate the whole packet for brunch before I had the chance to take a picture which I think says all you need to know about how yummy this is.

Pulsin’ Mint Choc Chip Protein Bite

Ingredients – cashews, brown rice malt, rice protein, pea protein, chocolate chips (cocoa mass, xylitol, cocoa butter, sunflower lecithin), xylitol, chicory fibre, cacao butter, concentrated fruit juice (apple, grape, pear), raw cacao, rice starch, green tea extract, peppermint oil, sea salt.

This is very minty, overwhelmingly minty, so it really depends how you feel about that flavour. I like mint, but not at the cost of being able to taste the chocolate that might as well not be there. Also, I found the texture a bit gritty.

Angelic Orange Chocolate Cookies

Ingredients – gluten free flour (rice, potato, tapioca, maize, buckwheat), sugar, margarine (vegetable fats: palm, vegetable oil: rapeseed, water, salt), golden syrup, chocolate pieces (cocoa mass, sugar, cocoa butter, emulsifier: sunflower lecithin), emulsifier (sunflower lecithin), raising agents (mono calcium phosphate, sodium bicarbonate), tapioca starch, stabiliser (xanthan gum), natural flavouring, salt.

It’s a rainy Bank holiday here in the UK so it seemed the perfect opportunity for a cup of tea and a biscuit. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the perfect biscuit. The first one was nice and I even liked the texture, which was different from a gluteny biscuit, but better than most gluten free products. Unfortunately, the second biscuit in the packet had crossed the line from caramelised to burnt.

Chika’s Smoked Almonds

SKA-SMALL-WEBSITE-45-140g-e1440701188994Ingredients – almonds, rapeseed oil, seasoning (salt, dextrose, rice flour, yeast powder, yeast extract powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, smoke flavouring, citric acid, natural flavouring).

Happiness is the Allergy Brothers snoring after a fun day, chilled white wine and a delicious snack. These smoked almonds are hitting the spot. Very savoury; these are a grown up snack. As a plus, I love the packaging.
